MobilityIndex.com was founded as a result of the frustration that the web site founder experienced due to the difficulty in sourcing a suitable wheelchair accessible vehicle when he visited the U.S.A. As an army veteran who served with the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, uses a wheelchair to get around as a consequence of spinal injuries sustained during military service.

His daughters, who works within the media industry, soon realised that there was a need for a dedicated website that would enable people with mobility problems to find out about mobility motoring and adaptive equipment, and to buy new and used mobility products online. One of the problems they had encountered was the bewildering range of different products on the market and the many companies, both large and small, that developed and supplied those products.

Working with web developers and with invaluable advice from their father and close friend, have created MobilityIndex.com with the aim of gathering all the useful information together in one place.
