Are Chair Raisers For You?
Heightened Seating
For people whose mobility problems present difficulty in getting in and out of chairs, there are two obvious solutions. The first is to replace their chair with a purpose-built rise and recline chair that gradually raises or lowers the seated occupant with the aid of an electric motor.
However, the less incapacitated might benefit from chair raisers, a more convenient and considerably less expensive compromise (typically a tenth of the cost of a riser recliner). These do not elevate the user from the chair but raise the existing furniture’s standing height to ensure easier access.
Morris and Alexander have over 20 years’ experience in the design and manufacture of chair raisers. Once fitted, the chair raisers become an integral and very discreet part of the chair, and can be adjusted to add between 7.5cm and 15cm of extra height. Made of steel, they attach securely to the chair and are completely stable, even when the furniture is moved.
