I’m Kevin Smith and Mobility UK Solutions is my business. It’s a “One Stop Shop” for everything anyone might need to make living with a disability or old age that little bit easier. Whether it’s mobility scooters, bathroom and toilet aids, walking aids or 1001 other things, we can supply just what’s needed. There are quite a few mobility shops around but they are not all the same.

We are different because my knowledge and expertise have been gained the hard way, by real life experience. I am the only disabled person in Dorset running a business of this kind. I’ve been wheelchair bound since suffering level T5 spinal injuries in a road traffic accident at the age of just 16. That was some 20 years ago now, so do I understand the problems from the customer’s point of view.

However that’s not all that’s different. We specialises in the supply and conversion of wheelchair accessible vehicles. We are the only company in Dorset to do so for secondhand vehicles. We do vehicle adaptations too, from hand controls to boot hoists for wheelchairs or scooters. Not only that but we also service and repair hoists, scooters, powered wheelchairs and other such aids of any make or model. We supply and maintain equipment for organisations such as Dorset County Council, The Care Division, and the NHS plus 25 independent care homes in Dorset.

We are one of very few powered wheelchair specialists to be found anywhere. It is a highly specialised service because each wheelchair has to be tailored to the specific requirements of the individual.
