The bed’s revolutionary design encourages users to become more active by allowing them to stand and walk away more easily. Made in Germany and supported by motors designed in conjunction with Porsche Engineering, the Vis-à-Vis is so called because it allows for face to face interaction at eye level. The lower leg section of the bed can be shifted to the side, allowing the user to assume a sitting position with feet placed firmly on the floor.
Attractive wooden and laminate finishes give Volker beds a more homely appearance than traditional hospital style beds. A simple handset allows for the adjustment of the bed’s height and profile, and the occupant or carer can put the bed into a chair-like position that facilitates comfortable wheelchair transfer, helped by the anti-stomach compression system.
